Find your starting point

Good design starts
with your business.

A local service business, a growing shop or a practice with a reputation to protect. Your website should feel like you and make the next step easy.

Responsive layouts, useful content and search-minded structure are part of the conversation from the start.

Experience without the runaround

The person you talk to
also builds the website.

I'm Brian Bateman. I've worked in IT since 1987, on the web since the early 1990s and in SEO since 1998. I bring that experience to the details that make a small business website useful.

We can talk about design, content, search and the systems behind your site in the same conversation. You'll know who is doing the work and why a particular approach makes sense.

Good questions

A few things you
may be wondering.

Have another question? You can talk directly with Brian before deciding on a project.

Do you work with small businesses?

Yes. Web Design XTC focuses on small businesses, independent professionals, local service companies and growing online shops. The site is planned around what your customers need to understand and what your business can support.

Do I need to be in Sheboygan?

No. Brian is based in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and works with businesses nationwide. Design reviews, content planning and project discussions can happen remotely.

Can we start with a template I like?

Yes. A licensed template can provide a useful starting point. We can also develop an original direction. Either way, the content, layout and functionality should fit your business. Template and asset licensing is checked for the specific project.

Will I be able to update the website?

WordPress projects are built with content editing in mind. We decide which areas you want to manage and make sure the handoff covers those tasks. Ongoing help is available if you prefer Brian to handle updates.

Is SEO included?

Page structure, clear headings, useful content and basic search metadata are considered during the build. Ongoing SEO, content development and local search campaigns are separate services. A new website alone cannot guarantee rankings.

How long does a website take?

The schedule depends on the size of the site, content readiness, integrations and review time. Brian will give you a project-specific timeline once the scope is clear.
